What an Eventful Weekend!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, because I know I did, starting Friday night! I went to my friend Julia's bonfire/fall party which included yummy chili, an old-fashioned hay ride, and s'mores. I am a bit of a pyromaniac so the fire was largely admired by me, along with the view of the beautiful stars on a clear night in the country. Definitely had a blast :)
My precious 4th cousin, Gabe, and his darling fiancé, Christine enjoying s'mores

After much consideration of time constraints, night-before sleep, and early morning temperatures, John and I made the tough decision not to race Saturday morning :( We were both pretty disappointed, but with my family heading up to Starkville pretty early and plenty of other race opportunities coming up soon, we just didn't think it was the best time to start my race career. Saturday was not a complete disappointment, however, because I spent the entire time in Starkville with my wonderful family and John. Mississippi State had their 6th consecutive win this season against Kentucky, putting them a 7-2 overall this season so far, and making me a happy girl :) I even got to see my boyfriend, Ole Miss fan at heart, ring a cowbell! I can't wait to be a bulldog next year!

The last highlight of my weekend (and my teenage years as a whole) came on Sunday afternoon. I will start from the beginning on this story. My parents have been in search of the perfect first vehicle for me for quite a while. I have been driving a bit of a beater back and forth to school while they hunted the world for the most dependable, safe, durable car out there, giving me some say-so on preference. Wonderfully, we agreed on a favorite, the Honda CR-V. It has great safety ratings, nice resale value, plus Honda is known for their all-around awesomeness (my sister's first and current car is a Civic.) I also really, really wanted one in my favorite, and of course hard to come by color, red.

Isn't it the most perfect thing you have ever seen??
So anyway, Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., as we drove through Byram on the interstate, headed to Starkville, we spotted a beautiful, red CR-V parked outside a small business, for sale by owner. We planned to stop by and check it out on our way back, but it was gone when we came back through after the game. So, my dad got a friend who lives in the area to get the number, he called, and Sunday afternoon we drove up to see it. We were greeted by a sweet elderly man who was selling the CR-V along with his motorhome because his wife's failing health wont allow them to travel as easily. The car was in incredible shape, a 2009 with only 11,000 miles. We asked when they put it out for sale and they lightly said they had only put it out around 8:20 Saturday morning, only ten minutes before we drove by. Isn't that enchanting? :) Anyway, we gladly accepted their offer and drove home my first, amazing, mindblowingly adorable car! I could not be happier!

In conclusion, I had an incredible weekend and I hope yours was just as thrilling! Sorry I didn't update any sooner and that this post is so long (that is if you're still reading this.) Thanks so, so much for reading and please leave comments! Also, I added some pictures to the About Me section, so be sure to check those out! Talk to you soon! :)
