It's Finally Friday! And Fall!

Hi there! I haven't had a terribly eventful week at school, and I've skipped out on a day of blogging.. Shameful! A couple of days ago, however, I did start reading The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (what a last name!) I know, I know, everyone has read this book or seen the movie by now, but I admit that I am rarely with the times when it comes to pop-culture. The book has been amazing so far; it's one of those that I truly do not want to put down once I open it up, even for only a few minutes. I haven't gotten past the first 150 pages yet, so I can only imagine what is in store as I finish it. I don't predict that will be anytime soon however, as I have assigned reading work on The Heart of Darkness (bleh..) and a term paper to work on. That work in addition to college essays, transcripts requests, preparing for tomorrow morning's race, and costume making has me quite busy. Yet, I still manage to bring my MacBook to theory and blog away ;)

In honor of the finally decreasing temperatures, I opted for a black turtleneck, plum corduroy skirt, and black pleather boots today! I have been anticipating this season since Mississippi Summer got old (the middle of August), and I couldn't be happier to welcome it at long last. I'm sure I will be a less cheerful at 5:30 tomorrow morning when I depart for the ever-anticipated 5k. I will, however, be donning an Indian girl costume to warm my heart. As Halloween is two days away, I decided to share a picture of my very first carved pumpkin (that I carved two weeks ago, a little early, truthfully.) I sure enjoyed carving it, though it took a total of four long hours with only a kitchen knife and a toothpick. Please comment and let me know what you think! I will write again tomorrow or Sunday with lots of pictures from the weekend! Until then, have a great weekend!
A very tedious little Minnie Mouse!

Awww, your Minnie Mouse is adorable! I carved Linus from Charlie Brown in the pumpkin patch waiting for "The Great Pumpkin" :)

Can't wait to see pictures from your run!
