My sweet parents and I before we left Thursday :) |
Well, as of a few minutes ago, regional NATS is over for me, but like I had hoped, it was a nice experience. My first day of competition, yesterday, involved a lot of nerves, but also a lot of fun performing. I opened with "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" like I had expected, and luckily, they asked for "Wouldn't it Be Loverly." I found out late last night that I had qualified for semi-finals, which I had not expected, and was very excited :) then come to find out, neither of my parents could get off work to take me, and I'm not quite a capable enough driver to drive in Hammond alone. My dear John came to the rescue and was able to take me, though! So while he sat in the car and did his schoolwork, I found my way to my judging room, and before I knew it, it was my turn! I chose, upon the advice of trusted others, to sing "Wouldn't it Be Loverly." Sadly, I did not qualify for finals, but I definitely didn't expect to ever qualify for semi-finals, so I'm not terribly disappointed.
One of the upsides of Thursday was shopping with my momma at TJ Maxx after I sang. TJ Maxx is no doubt my very favorite store. I love everything from their bags to their home stuff to cute clothes. I found this adorable sweater that I thought was blog-worthy :)

Doesn't it just look so cozy and have character? I love it, even though it's itchy ;) |
Lastly, I would like to take this time to highlight the most perfect snack ever created in the world of junk food. I have been waiting patiently for it's debut all year, as my family does every year. I'm sure you've all had one, I know you secretly love them, the one, the only, CHRISTMAS TREE CAKES!
So, I am about to wrap it up for tonight, so I can enjoy this delicacy and bask in the approaching Christmas season! Everyone, please go out and get one of these tasty treats and think of me when you eat it! Have a great weekend :)

My dearest Kelli-Anne, I do believe our room will be overflowing with those Christmas cakes seeing as they're my favorites as well! I adore them, and you!
That sweater is adorable! I love it! TJ Maxx is one of my favorite stores, too. For some reason I didn't really "discover" it until a year or two ago ... I had no idea what I'd been missing!
