Whew!

I'm finally catching a breath for a few minutes before bed after a non-stop-style past couple of days! In news, I was told today that I am now a National Merit Finalist! :D This is usually accompanied by scholarship money, which I'm quite pumped about. Also, I am my school's star student (based on ACT, then GPA). As my star teacher, I chose my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Karen Smith, who still teaches 1st grade at Otken. At a time when school was seriously such a drag for me, she went out of her way to give me special assignments that truly rooted very fond memories of her class in my heart and gave me a new perspective on school.

Distinguished Young Woman of Pike County 2012 is coming up on the 19th, and as the current title-holder, I've got so many commitments and rehearsals and fittings and everything you can imagine going on right now, in addition to school. It will be a long shot if I get to work out tomorrow, which, I'm sure you've ascertained, I missed yesterday and today. I'm bummed and feeling like a slob, so I'm going to give it my all. I hope your weeks haven't started off as stressfully as mine! I hold on hope that this is only going to make this summer and next year feel like that much more of a breeze!
