Yesterday was a good day.. :)

Yesterday, I found out both my cleats and shorts are on their way, so that sums up everything I've bought for cycling! Had a great run, shaving off another 2 minutes from my 5k!! So pumped about that. Praises to the Lord all the way! Then, had a nice cool down/workout in the pool, with an easy 20 lengths. We got back to the dorm super early last night, so we had two spare hours to clean up and do our Bible study, during which we together made a summary of the book we have spent the last two weeks studying, James. That was really neat and will probably be resourceful to me, because that little 5 chapter book is jam-packed with important lessons! Here are some of our highlights:

  • God does not tempt us. We are tempted by our own desires which can lead us down a path of destruction if we give in to them. (ch.1)
  • Quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. (ch.1)
  • Don't just read the Word, live it. (ch.1)
  • Religion without taming our tongues is worthless. (ch.1)
  • Faith without good deeds is dead. (ch.2)
  • Our tongue has a fire from Hell and controls our entire being. (ch.3)
  • True wisdom is:
    • peace-loving
    • considerate
    • submissive
    • full of mercy and good fruit
    • impartial
    • sincere
  • Selfish desires cause fights among believers (ch.4)
  • God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble (ch.4)
  • God is the only one who has the right to judge (ch.4)
  • God would have us to acknowledge His will when we speak about plans (ch.4)
  • Hoarding up wealth will only be our downfall (ch.5)
  • We should have patience and endurance in suffering and consider hard times an opportunity to become stronger in our faith (ch.5 & ch.1)
  • Take every opportunity to pray faithfully and wholeheartedly (ch. 5)
Like I said, SO many lessons for such a small book, but these are lessons which we must try to align our lives with. I'm so glad Scarlett and I had the opportunity to study this wonderful little book, and I pray that we will never forget what we've read.

Tonight, I get to go hommmmme!!! Yayy! I truly can't wait for that. Truly. However, I do have College Algebra and Comp II homework over the weekend, which is a damper, but necessary. Yesterday, I went to Walmart and got the portfolio I've been meaning to get so I could organize my school and other paperwork. Here it is! :) I do love organization..
