Finally Saturday!

They blocked blogger on our school internet, so I've had no access to it all week. Don't worry, I'm going to ask to have it unblocked next week. My success is not exactly likely, but I can hope. But anyway, about my week!

I had a busy, busy week filled with class and homework, hours at the gym, and walking with Jesus. This semester, after going to school 8-5, I have college class for three more hours on Monday and Tuesday. Luckily, I have 2-3:30 off everyday, so when I'm not cramming in some scholarship app or running errands, I can usually cram in some fitness during that time on the nights when I'm busy. Youth group is on Wednesday nights, and now Junior Miss rehearsal during the week and on the weekends has been added to the mix. Needless to say, I am VERY busy. Hardly enough time to catch my breath. Still, Scarlett and I put forth all our might to stay focused on the root and purpose of our lives, above all else, our life commitment to serving the Lord.

Last night, the kind and gracious Mooneys opened up their home to host a young ladies' retreat. Scarlett and I had to leave early this afternoon to make it to a Junior Miss rehearsal (a show which we are now both a part of, haha), but we did get to enjoy quality time with the other girls in our youth group and hear a couple of nice lessons delivered by Mrs. Janie. The first, last night's, was on prayer, and this morning's lesson was on Bible study. These lessons included the bringing to light of some greatly encouraging verses and tips on how to improve our daily walk with the Lord, which, with so much to do, we are so easily distracted from. I truly hate how much I am committed to right now, but I know that God is sovereign, everything is part of His plan to make me who He wants me to be, and that any free time I have in the future will be all the more sweet because of this.

Tomorrow our choir will sing with a few other choirs and an orchestra in "Mass of the Children" by John Rutter. We will then leave the church and go to another Junior Miss rehearsal, then back to school. For some crazy reason, the gym closes at, like, 2 on Sunday afternoons, so we wont be working out tomorrow night. BIG BUMMER. They should work on extending those hours. Anyway, I really hope I can get to blogging next week.

Another big element of last week was my Ebay shopping! I bought my very first road bike! Eeek! The bike is a Trek 1000 SL (2006), and it should be here by UPS Monday! Can't wait. To go along with my new bike, I also purchased on Ebay cycling shoes ($16), a cute jersey ($10), cycling shorts ($12), cleats ($10), and a helmet ($14). All of those prices are including the shipping, and all of those items are only lightly used. Needless to say, I love thrifty shopping! I didn't feel like I needed to invest in any nice gear unless I'm REALLY sure about this sport, but I'm feeling pretty good about it so far ;)

On the subject of bikes, here's another subject I've been meaning to blog about: my antique beach cruiser! I got this bike last year to ride around downtown while at school. I wanted an antique, and my mom saw this one advertised in the newspaper. Last weekend, I was looking at my bike and found a serial number, so I decided to try and research it. After not too much internet perusing, I found that my bike is the Schwinn Hollywood, made in Chicago in May of 1969! How cool, huh? Here are some pictures of it!

Sparkly handles :)

This is where it used to read "Hollywood"!
Anyway, I apologize for this post being so long, but there was a lot to share! I'm going to try to get Blogger unblocked, because I'd really like to be able to blog throughout the week as things I ordered get here!

Oh! And I also ordered swim caps last weekend for SGT and I off Amazon, and they came in sometime during the week. Cute huh? ;)

And this is the jersey I got, the only thing from Ebay that's come in yet
