I've really been trying to coax something, anything interesting out of my boring school life to blog about. And this is all I can really come up with right now: my favorite cereal. Living at a residential high school can be just as bad as living on a college campus as far as the eating habits. I am the type of person that HAS to have breakfast, and we are just across the street from a grocery store that has a savory, Southern-style breakfast that I could devour every morning if I didn't watch myself. So, I have to keep something in my room to keep myself out of the doughnuts and sausage-biscuits. I have fallen in love with Kashi: Strawberry Fields! I was never really a Kashi person before, mostly because organic has never been a big priority for me. But, this cereal is perfect in many ways. Sweet flakes, tangy dried strawberries and raspberries, crunchy, yummy in general :) And the best part is how it doesn't make the milk taste gross because it's not completely loaded down with sugar like every other cereal! Try some!
Another thing that has been refreshing in my daily activities has been my newfound appreciation for Coldplay. John has been trying for quite some time to get me to listen to them, and I just truly hadn't given it much thought. But, a couple of nights ago, I was getting some new music, so I downloaded about 10 Coldplay songs (to add to my whopping 2 already in my iTunes library), including their new Christmas single "Christmas Lights." I've gotta say, they are pretty remarkable in their ability to make audible sounds that entirely match what I think my heart would sound like if it made music in my chest. Very, very relatable and soothing in tough times. I'm truly pretty in love with the ten songs I downloaded right now! Have a listen (and a watch?):
